Title: lazy day shift dealer
Post by: pokr1222 on October 28, 2008, 02:24:29 PM
yesterday, I was playing in a new game on table 35 and for the first 15 minutes the dealer struggled with the box, constantly taking out the cards and squaring them up but, no luck--red light every time.

when the new dealer pushed in she told him about the problem.  He tried ONE time to take the cards out of the box and square them up but then, decided to hand shuffle the one deck for the next 5-7 hands.  In my mind, he is one of the laziest dealers in the casino and I guess he just wanted to get through the down and push the situation onto the next dealer.

I asked him to call the floor and he did.  When the floor got there (now 10-12 hands hand shuffled) he pointed to me.  I then asked him if there was ANYTHING he wanted to tell the floor but, he declined.

Very first time I have been so upset with the laziness of a dealer.  Im sure being stuck was part of it.

Should this be reported as I was urged to do by another dealer in the game or just fall under the heading,  forget about it  dont [censored] with anyones job???

If the shuffler isn't working, some dealers will just handle shuffle through it, and others (more lazy IMO) will instantly call the floor and get them to replace it.  If the dealer hand shuffles a few hands, I will call the floor and tell them about the problem to see if they can replace the shuffler.

I don't quite think this falls under the category of laziest dealer, but whatever.

pope,  not sure what you mean by (hand shuffle through it)  If the dealer doesnt step up and tell the floor that the shuffler isnt working, the next dealer or the dealer after that will have to do it.  This dealer just didnt want to be bothered by the whole changing the box thing.  I guess I just got used to using the machines.

Apathy reigns supreme with some of the dealers.
