I got my seat for this about a month ago.  I've only played in one other 1K buy-in in my life, which was an online WSOP satellite that I freerolled into.  As far as live tournaments, the biggest I have played is $500 buy-in, both the Bellagio daily tournament and a NLHE event at Legends at the Bike last year.  Good luck to anyone else participating in the state championship.  Hopefully my ugly mug will be displayed in the glass for the next year.

Hmmm, I am not playing in it, but would love to play some 20/40 or 40/80 with people on tilt since they just busted out.  They will probably start 3/6 games first, but I think I will get there at 10 or 10:30am to play in the hopefully juicy cash games!

This was my thinking exactly....although I won't be playing 20-40 or 40-80.  Probably some 5-150 or 6-12.

I am the same way. I prefer cash games on the fringes of big tourneys.

I'll be playing, but probably bust before the first break.  Pope, I'll see you at the main game about an hour after the tournament starts. lol.

I busted out 39th and Hass was at my table.  When I left, I think he had about 150-200k in chips.  So much for that first break thing...

Yep,  he is at about 230k with 20 people left.  With 4.5 million in play,  average stack is 225k.

Good luck tomorrow!

And congrats on the cash Crazy.

Well, it is over. Hass supposedly went out in 16th before I even got to the casino!  After an 8 hour of crappy poker, losing half a rack, I decided to spend the last 2 hours of my weekend watching the final 6 of the tourney. They are taping it for two episodes, and I think it is gonna be in the same time slot as the We got your game or whatever show. I should be in a lot of shots, so look for my sexy body when it shows.

Just in case anyone doesn't want to have the results ruined, they are below in white...

Strike that, I can't post in white here, so it is coming below...

SPOILER ALERT, DONT READ BELOW

DONT READ THIS IF YOU DONT WANT TO

HERE IT IS....

Results: Ryan Hughes went out third when his AJs lost to Andreas' KK all in preflop. The guy with the cast on his arm, can't remember his name, got 2nd after a few bad plays on his part. In a limped pot, he called all three bets by Andreas who had flopped top pair with JT. Then he went all in in a limped pot on the flop of T63 with 44, with about 10x the pot behind. Andreas called rather quickly with 68, and that was that. Heads up lasted those 2 hands.
